Marcus Rashford may have to explain his previous comments about two Real Madrid legends as he looks set to join Barcelona this summer.
Since the arrival of Ruben Amorim back in November last year, it's been clear that Rashford's time with boyhood club Manchester United was coming to an end.
Two months after the Portuguese manager joined United, Rashford was sent on a short-term loan to Premier League rivals Aston Villa, who he made 17 appearances for, scoring four goals.
Throughout the summer, several clubs have been linked with making a move for the United outcast, with reports suggesting that he is now set to join Barcelona on a loan deal.

But if he is to join the Spanish giants, then he may have to apologise to his teammates for his previous comments about two Real Madrid legends.

Reports have claimed that Rashford will join Barcelona on a season-long loan with the La Liga winners paying all of his £325,000-a-week wages during his time there.
Should they be impressed with his performances throughout the season, then they can make the deal permanent for an agreed fee of €35million (£30.3m), according to a report from BBC Sport journalist Simon Stone.

However, in order to win over his new teammates, Rashford may have to explain why he snubbed Barcelona's and praised historic rivals Real Madrid when naming the best defenders he's ever faced.

Speaking at a fan Q&A in 2021, Rashford spoke to United’s official website, naming two Real Madrid legend's as among his toughest opponents.
He said: "I think an individual is different to a unit. Some teams defend really well as units and it’s teams like Burnley, for example, who do everything as a four. So, if one pushes up, they all push up. If one drops, they all drop. It can be, at times, difficult to find space.

"But then there are some top individual defenders — Virgil van Dijk, Sergio Ramos. I thought, when we played against Real Madrid in a friendly, that Raphael Varane played and he was quite tough. So, there are a few people."
