If previous years are anything to go by, Marcus Rashford and his Barcelona teammates are in line to receive a financial reward for their Spanish Super Cup win over Real Madrid.

Hansi Flick's side lifted a second consecutive Supercopa and their first piece of silverware of the 2025-26 season on Sunday evening.

It was a five-goal thriller in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as goals from Raphinha (2) and Robert Lewandowski sealed a 3-2 win over Real Madrid, who scored two goals in stoppage time of the first half.

Barcelona can expect to earn as much as €8 million (£6.9m) for winning the Spanish Super Cup, according to Barca Universal, after the total prize sum was increased from last year's edition.

As mentioned above, Barca secured a second Supercopa in a row, after they beat Los Blancos 5-2 in January 2025.

Last season's result was a beneficial one for their squad, with club president Joan Laporta reportedly handing out financial bonuses as a reward for their emphatic win.

The exact amount was not confirmed, but as per Barca Universal, the reference point was 'expected' to be the figures from two years previously, after Barcelona won the Super Cup against Real Madrid.

On that occasion, each player received €100,000, with staff members also being awarded €10,000.

Marcus Rashford, who is currently on a season-long loan at Barcelona from Manchester United, came on in the 83rd minute on Sunday as he replaced Raphinha.

Speaking to club media after the full-time whistle, the England international opened up on winning his first title with the Catalan giants.

"Very happy today. It's always the best feeling to win the first trophy," said Rashford, who has been linked with a permanent move of late. "I hope now for the rest of the season we can go on to win some more."

He added: "It was a top performance. This is what we are capable of doing. There are still things to improve, like always, but today we enjoy this performance."

Hansi Flick was full of praise for his players. “I’m proud. We played well, we controlled the game, and we played our style,” he said. “They have a lot of quality, and it wasn’t easy, but the first half was fantastic."
