Barcelona are close to completing their second signing of the window after Fabrizio Romano uttered his now-iconic "Here We Go!" catchphrase – and it could prove to be the bargain of the summer
As we reported back in May, it appears Barcelona have fallen on the positive side of La Liga’s 1:1 financial rule, which grants them significantly more freedom when it comes to their transfer strategy.
In short, it means that every single euro the club generates through player sales or wage reductions can then be spent on new players.
As well as completing the signing of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United last month in a deal worth around £69.3 million, Barca continue to chase a big-money move for Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez.

Alvarez is just one of several forwards they've been linked with following the departure of Robert Lewandowski, who left at the end of his contract in June.
And on Friday evening, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the Spanish side have agreed a deal to sign Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth €22 million plus €7 million in add-ons (£24.7m).
A report from The Athletic claims a deal is not yet finalised but is expected to be completed in the near future.

Adeyemi, who has scored 36 goals in 146 appearances since joining Dortmund from Austrian Bundesliga side RB Salzburg in 2022, recorded 10 goals and six assists in 39 appearances across the 2025-26 campaign.
Lamine Yamal names the player he would ‘love’ Barcelona to sign this summer
Earlier this month, Yamal spoke about the player he would love to see join Barcelona.
Speaking to Cadena SER, the teenager said: “I’m not thinking about it too much, but I'd love it, because [Julian Alvarez] is a great player.
“If he comes, we'll welcome him with open arms... If I were him, I'd do it. We'll be waiting for him if he wants to come. [I say] go for it."
Julian Alvarez has publicly announced that he wants to join Barcelona, with former Liverpool and Argentina midfielder Maxi Rodriguez believing the two clubs should come to an agreement.
Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and Real Madrid, who had a €150 million (£171m) bid turned down earlier this month, are also keen on Alvarez.
