Footage of Kylian Mbappe's X-rated team talk at half-time of World Cup final shows his elite mentality

Footage of Kylian Mbappe's X-rated team talk at half-time of World Cup final shows his elite mentality

Kylian Mbappe issued a rallying cry to his teammates at half-time of the World Cup final with Argentina.

Footage of Kylian Mbappe's expletive-heavy team talk at half-time in the World Cup final has emerged online, showing how much of a leader he is.

France were blown away by Argentina in the early exchanges at the Lusail Stadium, with Lionel Messi opening the scoring with a penalty won by Angel di Maria.

Di Maria then doubled La Albiceleste's lead by finishing off a breathtaking move. With France looking out of sorts, manager Didier Deschamps dragged off Ousmane Dembele and Olivier Giroud before the half-time whistle and put on Marcus Thuram and Kolo Muani, who, along with talisman Mbappe, helped inspire the comeback.

And courtesy of Hadrien Garnier and TF1, behind-the-scenes footage has emerged of Mbappe in the dressing room at half-time of the final.

The game was being taken away from Les Bleus but Mbappe, who turned 24 on Tuesday, displayed his elite mentality.

Addressing his teammates, he said: “We can't do worse. We come back on the pitch, we must pull it off. We conceded 2 goals, we can come back. F*** guys, this is once every 4 years, f***!”

Much has been made about Mbappe having ego and attitude problems but we see there that his ability to motivate his team is not lacking.

France didn't get an instant response but Mbappe stepped up to the mark. It took an 80th minute penalty for them to pull one back when Nicolas Otamendi fouled Muani.

Mbappe made no mistake from the spot and grabbed the ball. Then, around a minute later, he had the ball in the net for a second time after bagging an exquisite equaliser.

Out of nowhere, he combined with Thuram and smashed the ball past Martinez to make it 2-2. His PSG colleague Messi scored his second to make it 3-2 in extra time but Mbappe converted a second spot-kick late on to clinch the Golden Boot and take the game to penalties.

The former Monaco starlet scored again in the shoot-out but misses from Kingsley Coman and Aurelien Tchouameni meant Argentina prevailed 4-2 on penalties to win the trophy for a third time.

Despite his World Cup final hat-trick, Mbappe has been trolled by Aston Villa goalkeeper Martinez, who was seen holding a doll with his face on during the trophy parade.

Mbappe looked seething as he collected his Golden Boot trophy and you just know he will channel that anger by tearing Bayern Munich apart in the Champions League round of 16 in February.
