Real Madrid reveals true feelings on Kylian Mbappe’s Ballon d’Or chances
In the past couple of weeks, Mbappe has made it clear that he is confident that he should be winning the Ballon d’Or. The French international has previously admitted that, if given the chance, he would vote for himself to win the award.

There is an argument that he has a chance of winning the award due to his output for both France and Real Madrid.
Mbappe was superb at this summer's World Cup, finishing as the top scorer at the competition with 10 goals, while he also netted on 42 occasions in 44 appearances across the campaign.

However, one factor that could count against him is his failure to win any silverware with either Los Blancos or Les Bleus last season.
Now, an ESPN journalist has revealed Real Madrid’s feelings on Mbappe winning the Ballon d’Or, with it being said that the club are 'optimistic' about his chances.
It has been reported that club president Florentino Perez will not be in attendance at El Clásico, which may not come as a surprise following the recent revelations around the Negreira case.
However, he will be in attendance at the Ballon d’Or ceremony in London.
Real Madrid’s boycott of the Ballon d’Or
It is understood that Real Madrid will be sending a considerable delegation to the Ballon d’Or this Monday, when the ceremony takes place in London.
The move would mark the end of the boycott that began in 2024, when the club decided to skip the ceremony after learning that Vinicius Junior would not be the winner.
Instead, the award went to Rodri for his hand in helping Manchester City’s treble-winning campaign, along with his influence at the European Championships that year.
Madrid also opted to boycott the 2025 ceremony, when Ousmane Dembele claimed the award, although their absence may have been influenced by the fact that none of their players were considered serious contenders following a disappointing campaign.
