Liverpool have been warned PSG are 'nailed on' to make a move for one of their star players this summer amid ongoing speculation over Kylian Mbappe's future at the Parc des Princes.

Mbappe, 24, has informed PSG he won't be signing a contract renewal at the club, with his current deal due to expire in 2024.

According to the BBC, PSG are ready to sell the France international this summer rather than risk losing him for free next year.

Real Madrid are strong favourites to sign Mbappe, while Manchester United, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Manchester City have also been linked with the forward.

Mbappe's contract decision coincides with the departure of Lionel Messi, who has confirmed he will join MLS side Inter Miami on a free transfer this summer.

PSG are also reportedly looking to sell Neymar, with the Ligue 1 champions potentially needing to replace three players in attack this summer.

Liverpool sent Salah transfer warning

Before the news of Mbappe's contract decision had broken, Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler said PSG were 'nailed on' to make a move for Mohamed Salah following Messi's departure.

In his column for The Mirror, Fowler wrote: "[Robert] Lewandowski looks like he'll finish his career at Barcelona, while no way can I see [Erling] Haaland or [Kylian] Mbappe being available this summer, or any time soon.

"Which leaves [Harry] Kane and Salah…and Neymar, if anyone is daft enough to take a punt on a player who looks like he's had enough of football. Four of the biggest clubs in the world who want one thing – the guarantee of goals.

"And two strikers in English football who have delivered them magnificently over the past seven years. There's going to be a helluva scrap.

"I only mention Salah because I’ve thought for a few months now that he could be targeted this summer, and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if both Madrid and PSG come in for him – with the French club nailed on in my opinion to try and get him.

"I don't think Liverpool fans should be too worried, because he’s got a long contract and the club has proved in the past few years they won't be forced into selling unless its on their own terms.

"In saying that, that his statement at the end of the season declaring how devastated he was they didn't finish in the top four, and there's no excuse for it was a worry.

"To me, that didn't sound like Mo, but his agent. And we know how HE operates. PSG have to bring in a big, big name to replace Messi this summer, and probably Neymar too. So they’ll be swinging big – and they could have a real go at Kane too."

Salah was spotted meeting with PSG president and Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) chief Nasser Al-Khelaifi earlier this year.

There was speculation at the time that the meeting was related Salah's club future or the potential sale of Liverpool.

However, CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs said Salah and Al-Khelaifi were 'simply friends' after confirming a meeting in London had taken place.

Nevertheless, the news of Mbappe's contract decision is set to reignite speculation over Salah's future at Anfield.
