Kylian Mbappe reportedly wants to leave PSG in January

Mbappe's relationship with the French club has reportedly broken down in recent months and he's now ready to walk away from the club.

Kylian Mbappe could be leaving PSG just months after signing a new contract, as he wants out of the Parc des Princes in the January transfer window.

Fans were surprised when Mbappe decided to renew his contract at PSG last season, after he'd been linked so strongly with a move to Real Madrid.

His deal was up in Paris but he decided to sign on until 2025, although it has since been confirmed that the forward can actually walk away from the deal a year before.

Things have not been good this season between Mbappe and his teammates in the French capital, with a bust up with Neymar leading to the players having to be kept apart, although the manager has rejected claims of a falling out.

Now it seems that things between the World Cup winner and the club are completely broken, with reports in Spain claiming he wants out.

According to Marca, the relationship has completely collapsed between player and club and he has asked to leave when the January window opens.

The claim in the paper says that the team were already open to letting him go next summer with 'no turning back' on his position to leave, but that has now been accelerated to the start of 2023.

The French club are willing to let him leave, at the earliest opportunity, however the big twist in the story is that they won't allow him to go to Real.

Los Blancos have a poor relationship with the Parisiens following their previous attempts to sign the 23-year-old in the summer, and also the potential European Super League.

The Spanish giant's president, Florentino Perez, was at the forefront of the breakaway competition whilst PSG chief Nasser Al Khelaifi didn't sign his club up for it and is now chairman of the European Club Association.

With Real said not to be an option, the former Monaco forward may be short of options, with Liverpool reportedly one of the few places he could go to.

Jurgen Klopp's side have been heavily linked with the forward in the past, though the German manager ruled it out due to the amount he would cost.

Signing Mbappe could be the only chance the Reds have to catch up to rivals Manchester City, and current table toppers Arsenal, after a poor start to the season.

City bringing in Erling Haaland has only made them even more difficult to take points from and they're already 13 points of the team who finished only a point behind them last season.

For his part, Mbappe is said to have realised signing a new deal in Paris was a 'mistake,' and there are claims by COPE that he feels he bowed to political pressure to continue at the club.

Even French president Emmanuel Macron spoke to the player in order to convince him to stay in the country, rather than move to the European champions.

Now it remains to be seen if any team can convince PSG to let him go in January, it's unlikely to be a cheap and easy deal.
