Kyle Walker shows he's still got 'Tottenham DNA' after fan throws Arsenal shirt at him

The former Spurs defender also screamed in the face of former teammate Oleksandr Zinchenko at the Etihad on Friday night.

Fans think Kyle Walker displayed some of his 'Tottenham DNA' in the aftermath of Manchester City's 1-0 win over title rivals Arsenal.

A 64th-minute strike from defender Nathan Ake sealed City's place in the FA Cup fifth round but ultimately, it was a game that failed to live up to expectations.

Coming into Friday's clash at the Etihad, many expected a competitive fixture between two of the Premier League's in-form sides – and we only witnessed flickers of that prediction.

That being said, we got to see some entertaining scenes after the full-time whistle.

Kyle Walker, who came on as a second-half substitute for Rico Lewis, decided to scream in the face of former City teammate Oleksandr Zinchenko after the full-time whistle.

It was all fun and games, though, as Walker and Zinchenko swapped shirts before heading down the tunnel together.

And if you managed to get a seat near the Etihad tunnel on Friday night, then you'll have witnessed a moment involving Walker and an Arsenal shirt.

As you can see in the footage below, a supporter threw a Gunners shirt at the former Spurs defender as he approached the tunnel.

Walker proceeded to pick up the scarf before flinging it back into the crowd – a moment that got fans talking on social media.

One said: "He's still got that Tottenham DNA," while another supporter commented: "He's Spurs through and through."

A third wrote: "I love Kyle Walker. He laughs in Tierney's face when we beat them 5-0 and yesterday he threw an Arsenal shirt back to the stands."

Walker joined the ranks at Spurs from boyhood club Sheffield United in 2009 and went on to make over 200 appearances for The Lilywhites during an eight-year spell.

He left the North London side in the summer of 2017 to join Manchester City in a deal worth an initial £45 million fee, rising to £50 million with add-ons.

Earlier this month, Walker warned league leaders Arsenal that the title race is far from over.

"Full credit to Arsenal, they have played some fantastic football this season so far," Walked told City's official website. "But as we all know, there is a lot of football to be played.

"It has been a bit of a tough half season [for me]. At the start of the season, I was doing ok but then took some niggles to my groin and I knew something wasn’t right."

He added: "We need to start putting a run together which we know that we can do. I have more than enough faith to know that this group of players will want to achieve everything that they can achieve."

Mikel Arteta's side currently sit five points ahead of Manchester City with a game in hand.
