Kevin De Bruyne has been awarded his UEFA A coaching licence, just days after being crowned the Premier League player of the season. Is there anything this man can't do?

The 30-year-old Belgian, who helped Manchester City to their fourth Premier League title in five years this season, notched a career-high 15 goals and eight assists during the 2021/22 league campaign.

And while he was pulling the strings from midfield, De Bruyne was also busy studying for UEFA's second highest coaching badge, both at home and at the Manchester City academy.

De Bruyne was taking training sessions with different age groups at City's academy, according to The Daily Mail.

And that vital coaching experience with youth teams, including the U16's, contributed to passing his coaching licence.

In an interview with Belgian publication HLN, the midfielder said it can sometimes take hours to prepare one session. "It's crazy," he said.

But the former Chelsea player has ambitions to pass on Pep Guardiola’s philosophy to future generations after his playing days are over.

“When you have worked with a man like Guardiola, you look at this sport in a totally different way," he said via The Mirror last year. “For the sake of football in my home country Belgium it would be good to pass on all that knowledge.

“This is why I am not saying no anymore to coaching. I have started a coaching course and I prepare all the lessons which I am told to do.

“At the same time I have to admit there are quite a few things I like away from football too.”

De Bruyne isn't the only Belgium international to have passed his UEFA A badge.

In a bid to involve players in the future of Belgian football, manager Roberto Martinez advisted his players to take up a coaching course, and a reported 19 players signed up.

In total, nine players recently qualified – Youri Tielemans, Jan Vertonghen, Axel Witsel, Leandro Trossard, Dedryck Boyata, Dennis Praet, Dries Mertens, Simon Mignolet and Matz Sels.
