Jamie Carragher left in stitches after Micah Richards brutally mocked by Kate Abdo

The CBS crew are back as the Champions League quarter-finals get underway

CBS presenter Kate Abdo aimed a brutal dig towards Micah Richards which left Jamie Carragher in stitches.

As the Champions League action returns, Abdo, alongside Richards, Carragher and Thierry Henry were also back as they headed the coverage for CBS Sports.

Ahead of the match between Manchester City and Bayern Munich, Abdo said to the viewers: “A very warm welcome along to our London studio!

“I'm Kate Abdo joined by Champions League winner with Barcelona Thierry Henry, Champions League winner with Liverpool Jamie Carragher, and the man who had a great view from the bench when Sergio Aguero won the Premier League for Manchester City - 'Big Meeks', Micah Richards.”

In response to Abdo’s dig, Richards said that he “earnt a lot of money sitting on the bench”.

At this stage, Carragher jibed in and asked: “[By] doing nothing?”

After Richards replied with “yeah”, Carragher added: “Bit like you here.”

Fans were quick to react to Abdo’s opening lines on social media.

One said: “This is Box Office!”

Another tweeted: “Still one of the greatest opening speech ever.”

A third fan added: “Thank God she didn't mention his champions league appearances.”

Someone else wrote: “Kate, you didn’t have to do that to Micah.”

Whilst a fifth commented: “I’ll never get tired of Jamie Carragher saying “oouuuuuu”.”

However, Richards will end up with the last laugh as his former side produced a stunning performance to dismantle Bayern in the pouring rain.

Rodri opened the scoring with a stunning effort in the 27th minute.

In the second half, City moved up the gears to pull even further away thanks to goals from Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland.

City will now travel to the Allianz Arena next week with one foot in the semi-finals as it will take a monumental effort for Thomas Tuchel’s side to turn this tie around.
