Karim Adeyemi runs 70 YARDS for breathtaking solo winner against Chelsea, Enzo Fernandez was bullied

"Karim Adeyemi really made a mess of Enzo Fernandez tonight." What a way to score the winner for Borussia Dortmund against Chelsea!

Borussia Dortmund starlet Karim Adeyemi ruthlessly picked apart Chelsea with a sensational solo run to open the scoring in their last-16 Champions League tie.

Chelsea had a corner and the offside flag went up as Dortmund punted the ball clear from their box, only for the referee to play the advantage.

Adeyemi latched on to the loose ball and went full throttle with a sensational solo run, with Chelsea new boy Enzo Fernandez the only player in his path.

The 21-year-old German forward left Fernandez for dead with his speed before going around an onrushing Kepa Arrizabalaga and burying the ball in the back of the Chelsea net.

Fans were in awe at Adeyemi effortlessly beating Fernandez, who became a British-record signing following his move from Benfica, and they praised him for his “freak run.”

“Adeyemi made Chelsea look stupid,” one fan said.

Someone else commented: “What a freak run that was from Adeyemi. He made Enzo his toy.”

“Karim Adeyemi really made a mess of Enzo Fernandez tonight,” a third added.

And a fourth Twitter user wrote: “Bro, no matter what he [Enzo] was done. He’s not beating Adeyemi in a foot race.”

Another posted: “Dortmund have a habit of finding the next star forward. Adeyemi will be a beast, makes mincemeat of £100m Fernandez.”

Adeyemi’s breathtaking opener proved enough to seal a 1-0 win for Dortmund at the Westfalenstadion on Wednesday.

Dortmund will travel to Stamford Bridge for the second leg of their round-of-16 Champions League tie against Chelsea on 7th March.

Chelsea will now return to Premier League action on Sunday when they welcome Southampton to Stamford Bridge.
