West Ham United fans plan to throw 'fake money' at Jesse Lingard after he signed a whopping £200,000-a-week deal at Nottingham Forest.

The 29-year-old's decision to sign for Forest this summer hasn't gone down well with the West Ham faithful.

They plan to make their feelings known when Lingard makes his home debut against none other than West Ham.

Forest welcome the Hammers to The City Ground on August 14.

Club fan page @whucentre took to social media to outline their scheme to throw 'fake money' at Lingard and encouraged other fans to join in if they're travelling to the Midlands.

The Twitter page uploaded a screenshot from Amazon, revealing 'prop money' - with the caption: "Anyone else going to Forest away… you know what to do."

In another tweet, they shared a picture of Gianluigi Donnarumma being subjected to 'fake money' during an Italy U21 game, accompanied with the caption: "We need to take this to another level on the 14th."

David Moyes' team had been in the running to sign Lingard following the player's prolific loan spell in the 2020/21 season.

He starred for West Ham, scoring nine goals and assisting five goals in 16 appearances during a blistering spell.

But he's opted to link up with Steve Cooper at Forest after they offered him a deal close to £200,000-a-week.
