Jamie Carragher has got fans talking with his list of teams that have changed football

Carragher certainly riled his usual sparring partner, Gary Neville, with his list of teams that have changed football.

Gary Neville and the rest of Manchester United's fan base have been wound up by Jamie Carragher's list of teams that have changed football.

Certainly Carragher and his usual sparring partner, Neville, don't often see eye-to-eye on things, especially when it comes to arguments about their respective teams.

In fairness, the right back isn't the only former United player who finds himself disagreeing with the ex Liverpool defender when it comes to the teams.

Rio Ferdinand recently ripped into the Sky Sports pundit for his suggestion that Virgil van Dijk is a better player than Nemanja Vidic was.

Once again Carra has managed to wind up some United fans, including his usual 'nemesis' with his opinion about Manchester City, in the wake of their win over Arsenal on Wednesday night.

The victory means that it's likely Pep Guardiola's side will win the Premier League for the third time in-a-row, something only United have previously done.

They are also close to equalling Neville and his former teammates in winning the Treble, but the former Liverpool defender clearly doesn't think that the side from 1998/99 was a 'game changer.'

Instead the 45-year-old named the AC Milan team of Arrigo Sacchi, Johan Cruyff's Barcelona and Guardiola's sides at the Nou Camp and Etihad Stadium as game changers, before adding Rinus Michels' total football at Ajax.

Neville though, wasn't too impressed, replying, "Errrrr? You missed a team out my friend," and he wasn't the only supporter to think similar.

"Jamie Carragher is the reason most people don't care about english so called 'experts'," one fan harshly replied.

A third added, "Hugely disrespectful to Sir Alex Ferguson."

"You forgot the most important one from United. C'mon Jamie, spit it out," noted another.

Focusing his attention on Sir Alex Ferguson, a fifth fan posted, "One man changed the English Premier League with his 1999 treble, establishing a football club where no one else did before. Without that manager, no Guardiola in England, no City group. A manager changed the world."

Many other fans also focussed on the charges that City could be facing in the near future as reasons they shouldn't be on the list of great teams, comparing them to Lance Armstrong.

In fairness to Carragher, he may have a point when it comes to whether or not United's Treble winners actually did 'change the game.'

Whilst Ferguson had an amazing team, and a great impact on English football, his tactics didn't really re-invent the way many others play.

Those listed by the former Liverpool player had a much greater lasting impression on football across the world, with Michels influencing Cruyff who in turn influenced Guardiola.
