Brighton fans mock Chelsea boss Graham Potter with 'sacked in the morning' chant after horror first half

Chelsea trailed 3-0 at half-time in Saturday's Premier League match against Brighton.

Brighton fans have chanted "you're getting sacked in the morning" at their former manager Graham Potter after a disastrous first half for Chelsea at the Amex Stadium.

Potter left Brighton in September to become Chelsea head coach after Thomas Tuchel was dismissed.

He came up against his former club in the Premier League on Saturday and would have hoped for a strong start on his return to the south coast.

But his side conceded after just five minutes, Belgium international Leandro Trossard putting Brighton ahead.

The goal prompted Brighton supporters to mock their former manager with a chant claiming he was set to lose his job.

Things got worse for Potter 10 minutes later when Ruben Loftus-Cheek's own goal gave the home side a 2-0 lead.

And Brighton would move further ahead shortly before half-time courtesy of another own goal from Chelsea.

This time it was defender Trevoh Chalobah who was the unlucky Blues player.

It is the first time that Chelsea have scored two own goals in a Premier League game.

The shocking first-half performance leaves Potter at huge risk of suffering his first defeat as Chelsea manager.

Potter was unbeaten in his first nine games as Blues boss in all competitions ahead of Saturday's match.

Speaking on the eve of the game, Potter said he was looking forward to revisiting his old club but added that he was not "naive" enough to think he would be given a warm welcome by all.

"It is a place where I spent three happy years and I am looking forward to going back," Potter said.

"These things happen in football, sometimes life throws you opportunities and you have to take them or not, the timing wasn't great for anybody but sometimes that happens.

"Then it is about the decision, the decision to work here was too good to turn down, I thought.

"As to what the crowd, what the expectations from them are, I don't really have any.

"Most people I have spoken to in Brighton have been supportive thankfully - but I am not naive, I know it is not universal."
