Gareth Bale Told To Sign For Rangers Because They've Got The 'Best Golf Courses'

Rangers have been urged to sign Gareth Bale by Ally McCoist, who hilariously claims Scotland has the 'best golf courses'.

Bale is a free agent following his Real Madrid departure and is looking for game-time next season ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

Cardiff City, Southampton, Celtic and Tottenham are among the clubs thought to be interested in snapping up the 32-year-old.

Not to mention Rangers who have been told to offer the Welshman a contract.

McCoist believes the Rangers faithful will 'absolutely love him' and joked that Scotland has the 'best golf courses'.

On talkSPORT, he said: "If I was Rangers, I’d go offer him something as well.

"Listen, he's at a stage in his life he wants to enjoy himself. We all know he's a big golf fan, we've got the best golf courses.

McCoist referenced the disappointment of Rangers' signing of Aaron Ramsey, but insists they should make a move for the five-time Champions League winner.

"I know the argument would be there was disappointment with Aaron Ramsey, he wasn't 100 per cent fit, I get that," he added.

"He's at the stage now, would America be an option?

"I don't know him so I can't speak for him but it looks like he's in a period where he wants to enjoy the last two or three years of his playing career.

"And that's what I want it to be. I don't want him to fizzle out as a bit-part player coming on for half an hour.

"He didn't look anything as sharp as he's been (against Ukraine) but he's not going to be.

"At the same time, come on guys, he's still got a lot to offer."
