A legion of furious Chelsea fans has review bombed Three UK’s Trustpilot page after the company suspended its sponsorship with the club “until further notice.”
Chelsea are currently operating under a ‘special licence’ after long-time owner Roman Abramovich was sanctioned by Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Abramovich, 55, has seen his assets frozen as part of the UK’s response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which has been met with condemnation around the world.
The billionaire Russian oligarch has been accused of having close ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which Abramovich has staunchly denied.
Following the sanctioning of Abramovich, Chelsea’s shirt sponsor revealed it would remove the Three logo from the Blues’ kits and from around Stamford Bridge.
It would seem fans of the Premier League club are outraged with Three’s decision, with the mobile and internet provider’s Trustpilot page hit with a copious number of negative reviews.
“Worst possible service. I was only using them cause of the ties to Chelsea, but the service itself is genuinely the WORST of all the mobile services that I have used so far. Time to switch,” user Anuj Aryal wrote.
Another user simply commented: “Like rats from a box.”
While user Natalie Pearce posted: “I tried to cancel my contract this morning as I disagree with what three [sic] have done to Chelsea. They want to charge me an exorbitant fee to break my contract! I bet they paid Chelsea nothing. I have told them I will take this further because they are forcing me to leave by their behaviour.”
Someone else said: “This company has ruined Chelsea by putting their bad logo on our shirts hopefully Samsung comes back.”
A fifth added: “Avoid. Unreliable and disloyal to current customers. Pulling out of contract for no valid reason.”
All of the aforementioned reviews scored Three a one-out-of-five rating, with eagle-eyed fans screenshotting that the company’s page had a 1.6 overall score out of five stars.
Trustpilot has intervened and has “temporarily suspended” review scores from being submitted, with the overall star rating for Three’s page no longer visible.
“Three’s profile page on Trustpilot has been temporarily suspended following an increase in reviews related to recent media attention,” reads an update from Trustpilot.
“Although we understand you want to voice your opinion about things in the news and issues trending on social media, Trustpilot is a place for feedback based on genuine buying and service experiences.
“The page will be reinstated in the near future, and any reviews that do not relate to a genuine experience will be removed.”
