Jamie Vardy has been linked with a shock move to a Premier League club amid interest from Hollywood-backed Wrexham.

Last week, Vardy announced his decision to leave Leicester City at the end of the 24/25 season, putting an end to his 13-year stay with the Foxes.

Having signed for £1 million in 2012, Vardy went on to become Leicester's best player in modern history, winning the Premier League and the FA Cup in the process.

Since his decision was made public, Vardy has been linked with a host of different clubs, including Wrexham, who secured promotion to the Championship on Saturday.

However, Sky Sports recently claimed that the 38-year-old would like to continue playing in the Premier League and is not ready to drop down the English football pyramid.

The report stated: "Jamie Vardy has no interest in playing for another Championship club, and is adamant he still has much to offer a team in the Premier League, or one of the top European leagues.

"Sky Sports News has been told the 38-year-old doesn’t want to swap recently-relegated Leicester City for another club in the same division."

It has also been suggested that Vardy will only think about his next move once the 24/25 season comes to a close.

As reported by Football Insider, Wolverhampton Wanderers are plotting a shock move for Vardy.

It has been said that Wolves could move for Vardy with talisman Matheus Cunha heavily linked with a transfer away from the Molineux.

The report added: "It is believed the Midlands club see Vardy as an important impact player rather than a nailed-on starter in Vitor Pereira’s side."

Reacting to Vardy's impending exit, Leicester chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said: "Jamie is unique. He is a special player and an even more special person. He holds a place in the hearts of everyone connected to Leicester City, and he certainly has my deepest respect and affection. I am endlessly grateful for everything he has given to this Football Club."
