Liverpool take on Fulham today in their first game of the new Premier League season.

Marco Silva's Cottagers smashed their way back up to the English top flight at the first time of asking last term in a record breaking season.

Liverpool came within two games of an unprecedented quadruple, but ended the campaign in anti-climax despite claiming both domestic cups.

The Reds began their season a week ago, beating Manchester City 3-1 in the Community Shield in what many call a glorified friendly - but for these two sides, any marginal psychological gain could be seen as a big step in the right direction.

Jürgen Klopp’s side will be without Curtis Jones (2-4 weeks) and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (2-3 months) due to injuries.

Kostantinos Tsimikas and Ibrahima Konate are doubtful after picking up knocks, whilst the Reds are likely to see a return of Alisson Becker in goal and Naby Keita in midfield, who was previously missing through illness.
