We simulated Wrexham in Championship and Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney need to see what happens

Here's how Wrexham fare in the Championship through our simulation.

We've simulated Wrexham's Championship campaign for next season following their promotion and Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney need to see what happens.

Wrexham secured their third consecutive promotion after sealing second place in this season's League One campaign.

It is the first time any club has been promoted for three consecutive seasons within the top five tiers of English football.

They have rocketed up the leagues following Reynolds and McElhenney's blockbuster takeover in 2020.

On Wrexham's latest promotion, Reynolds said: "There are so many people here that don't get the credit they deserve. People are here every day, the stewards, the supporters, the media team, the coaches, everyone keeping the players safe. People who are not talked about, not sung about but actually keep the entire thing going and we have so much love for them."

McElhenney added: "It seemed like an impossible dream. The greatest dressing room in sports, in any category, I've ever seen before. Truly folks I've seen who are all for one and one for all. This community, I'm speechless with their passion and emotion."

The Hollywood co-owners harbour ambitions of Wrexham rubbing shoulders with England's elite teams in the Premier League.

They will get the chance to push for a Premier League promotion when they ply their trade in England's second tier.

Ahead of next season, we simulated Wrexham in the Championship using Football Manager 2024 - and here's what the simulation came up with:

Wrexham in the Championship

Wrexham's campaign in the Championship for the 2025/26 season does NOT bode well, according to our simulation.

They finished rock bottom, resulting in relegation.

The Red Dragons won just 10 games - more than Portsmouth and Stoke City, however - and lost a staggering 29 games, which is the most of any team in the league.

Wrexham went down with Portsmouth and Stoke.

They were also knocked out of the FA Cup in the third round by Lincoln City and dumped out of the Carabao Cup in the second round by Wolves.

So, it's not a fairytale fourth successive promotion for Reynolds and McElhenney's team.
