Back in 2015, 50 wonderkids were tipped by Gazzetta Dello Sport to achieve great things in world football and a decade later, the list compiled by the Italian outlet looks very interesting.

The newspaper picked out a host of players under the age of 20, from all over the world and plenty would go on to become household names - though there are number of prospects who did not quite fulfil their potential in the game.

Both Kingsley Coman and Ousmane Dembele have gone on to win a whole lot of trophies, with the former scoring the winner in a Champions League final and the latter once costing Barcelona €148 million as a replacement for Neymar and going on return to France with Paris Saint-Germain.

Another name who features is Dembele's PSG teammate Marco Asensio, who looked like he was ready to become the next big star at Real Madrid before he left on a free transfer in 2023.

Similarly, Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard didn't quite find his feet at Real but just as he was about to become a failed wonderkid - the Norwegian has developed into one of the best playmakers in the world.

Meanwhile, other names on the list who will be viewed as forgotten prospects include former Golden Boy Renato Sanches, Alen Halilovic, Gedion Zelalem and Reece Oxford.

Gianluigi Donnarumma has gone on to become Italy's No.1 goalkeeper and captain and the likes of Youri Tielemans and Ruben Neves enjoyed solid careers in England.

One time it appeared as though Dele Alli had the world at his feet when he won the PFA Young Player of the Year award two years on the trot at Spurs but things have not gone to plan for the England wonderkid and he is currently without a club after his deal with Everton expired.
