Europa League to feature two huge changes next season

Europa League to feature two huge changes next season

The Europa League and Conference League are both receiving new logos.

The Europa League will have a new logo and ball next season as part of two monumental changes.

UEFA's secondary club competition has the likes of Liverpool, Sporting, West Ham, Brighton, Ajax, Roma and Villarreal competing this year.

But it will be all change next season as the Europa League, formerly known as the UEFA Cup, will feature a new crest on the sleeves.

It isn't a wholesale overhaul from UEFA, with the same colours on display. But the shapes of both the trophy vector and in the orange border are different, with the latter now adopting an octagon shape.

Kipsta, the footballing brand of French firm Decathlon, are the ball manufacturers for Ligue One and the Belgian Pro League but have now made a huge stride forward in their bid to rival the likes of Nike and Adidas.

They have penned a three-year deal from the 2024/25 season and renowned for producing some of the highest-quality footballs around.

"We are thrilled to announce KIPSTA as the official match ball supplier for the first time as we join forces with a brand that shares our passion for innovation, quality and the love of the game," Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA marketing director, said.

"KIPSTA's experience in providing top-quality balls and commitment to the sport will be tremendous assets as the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League enter into new era."

The Europa Conference League will also be treated to a new sign but it's unlikely that the Champions League, the premier tournament, will see anything than updated graphic designs.
