Ange Postecoglou may have already decided his first Tottenham signing of the summer.
The Australian hit out at Tottenham’s “fragile foundations” after a 2-0 defeat to Manchester City ended their hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.
The defeat brought a peculiarly jovial atmosphere at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, however, with City’s victory moving them two points clear of Arsenal at the top of the table and just a win away from being crowned champions in place of Mikel Arteta’s side.

"I think the last 48 hours have revealed the foundations are fairly fragile," he said. "Outside the club, inside the club, everywhere.
"It has been an interesting exercise. It's just my observations. I'm not going to tell you more. You can make your own assessment of what happened.
"I probably misread the situation as to what I think is important and the endeavour to become a winning team, but that's okay. That's why I'm here. I just want to win, I want to be successful at this club. That's why I was brought in.

"Other people, what their priorities and interests are, I have zero interest in - I know what's important to build a winning team, and that's what I want to concentrate on.
"It is what it is, I can't dictate what people do. They're allowed to express themselves however they want. But when we've got late winners in games, it's because the crowd has often helped us. I already knew what I wanted to do, I just have to make some adjustments to how I do it."
Despite his frustrations, Postecoglou is said to be planning for a busy summer, with a GiveMeSport report suggesting he may target Matt O'Riley, who plays for the Australian’s former club Celtic.

O'Riley was the subject of a £20million bid from Atletico Madrid back in January, while West Ham United are also linked to the player.
And it was alleged overnight the Celtic were in “in dialogue” with two top six Premier League teams over a move for O'Riley, with any transfer likely to be concluded before the European Championships.
It is unknown whether Spurs are among those teams being referred to, with both Liverpool and Manchester United having also been linked in the past.
Postecoglou signed O'Riley at Celtic for £1.5million in January 2022 from MK Dons, with the Denmark international having since made 116 appearances for the Hoops, scoring 24 goals.

This season alone he has racked up 27 combined goals and assists.
