Sky Sports have been called out on social media for two massive errors in their broadcast during Tuesday's Carabao Cup matches. The third round of the Carabao Cup continued on Tuesday night, with several top Premier League clubs like Chelsea, Aston Villa and Manchester City all in action.

Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle United will play the final matches of the round on Wednesday night, ahead of the draw for the round of 16 which gets underway at the end of October.

However, Sky Sports, who broadcast the matches live, have come under fire from fans for two massive errors they made during Tuesday night's games.

The first error came during the match between Aston Villa and Wycombe Wanderers as fans noticed that the feed cut out just after the half-time break with the match still level at 0-0.

Immediately the footage of the match was replaced by a green screen before the Sky Sports logo appeared alongside a message reading: "We're really sorry for this temporary fault."

The reason for the error was never explained, but commentators issued an apology for the issue before swiftly moving on to the game.

Reacting to the mistake, one fan wrote online: "Even Sky have given up on Villa's performance tonight, they’ve pulled the plug."

Another joked: "Villa playing so badly tonight they’ve broken Sky."

Meanwhile, Sky Sports' second mistake came during Chelsea's 5-0 dominant win over League Two club Barrow, as fans criticised the broadcaster for cutting away from Christopher Nkunku after he scored his third goal of the match.

The striker opened the scoring early in the match before doubling his total, and Chelsea's lead, in the 15th minute.

And the Frenchman wasn't done there, as he sealed his hat-trick with a goal in the 75th fans but just as he was pulling out a balloon to complete his signature goal celebration, the Sky Sports cameras cut to a replay, leaving fans infuriated.

Reacting to the controversial call from Sky on X, one fan wrote: "Hate crime when they cut off Nkunku balloon celebration."

While another added: "No balloon for Nkunku's first Chelsea hat trick, game ruined."
