Rangers are reportedly set to appoint a manager who was once labelled as the most hated man in football.
Earlier in the month, Rangers parted ways with Russell Martin after a dreadful start to the 25/26 season.
Following a dismal 1-1 draw against Falkirk, Rangers sit eighth in the Scottish Premiership table, 11 points off leaders Hearts.
After sacking Martin, the Gers wanted to bring back former boss Steven Gerrard to reignite their season.

However, despite holding positive talks, it was reported last weekend that Gerrard had turned down the chance to return to Rangers.
Journalist Ben Jacobs wrote: "Steven Gerrard has decided to withdraw from contention for the Rangers role. Gerrard has decided the timing wasn’t quite right to return and has now removed himself from the process.
"Conversations were positive, and a full agreement was almost reached. Understand both sides have agreed to leave the door open for the future."
Having been snubbed by Gerrard, Rangers are now looking at other targets.

According to the BBC, former player Kevin Muscat has emerged as the leading contender to replace Martin at Ibrox.
Muscat, 52, is currently the manager of Chinese club Shanghai Port, having previously managed the likes of Melbourne Victory, Sint-Truiden and Yokohama F Marinos.
It has been claimed that discussions have taken place between Rangers and Muscat.

However, the BBC also stated that if a deal was agreed with Muscat, the Australian would not be available until the Chinese league season finishes on November 22.
During his playing days, Muscat played for clubs such as Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Millwall.
The former defender was once labelled as the most hated man in football, having racked up 123 bookings and 12 red cards.
Muscat's managerial CV also packs a punch, having won the J League title in 2022. He also won the A League twice during a five and a half year stint in Melbourne.

Last season, Muscat became champion in a third country after leading Shanghai Port to Chinese Super League glory.
