Former QPR owner Tony Fernandes slammed after posting half-naked photo in team meeting

Tony Fernandes, who gave up his chairman status at QPR back in July, has gone viral for all the wrong reasons.

Former QPR owner Tony Fernandes has been slammed after conducting a meeting while shirtless and receiving a massage.

The 59-year-old became the majority shareholder at Loftus Road back in August 2011 three months after their promotion to the Premier League.

His role at the club reduced in recent years and a few months back, in July, it was confirmed that Fernandes no longer had any involvement in the Rs.

He sold his shares following a 12-year spell at the helm.

But Fernandes, who owns Air Asia and Caterham Group, has courted controversy following his post made on LinkedIn.

The Malaysian went viral for the wrong reasons after he wrote: "Was a stressful week and Veranita Yosephine suggested a massage.

"Got to love Indonesia and AirAsia culture that I can have a massage and do a management meeting.

"We are making big progress and I have now finalised Capital A structure. Exciting days ahead. Proud of what we have built and never have lost sight of the finish."

He accompanied the post with an image of him half-naked receiving the massage in the office, with his iPad on a table.

But Fernandes has been panned by social media users for the bizarre post.

One wrote: "No shock we’re in the state we are considering this whopper was running our club."

A second asked: "Was this the kind of stuff he was doing at QPR in order to get so relaxed that he was able to sanction the ridiculous overspending in 2012/13 that lead to their relegation and time in the wilderness."

A third said: "Imagine logging into a zoom and your boss is just topless getting massaged whilst you run through a presentation."

A fourth commented: "Imagine logging into a zoom and your boss is just topless getting massaged whilst you run through a presentation."

A fifth stated: "Shocked it didn’t work out for him at QPR."
