Premier League star Andros Townsend has explained why he eats chicken feet for dinner every night.

Throughout his career, Townsend has played for Premier League clubs Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Everton.

During the summer transfer window, the 32-year-old signed for newly promoted side Luton Town on a short-term deal until January 2024.

Speaking on a recent episode of Ben Foster’s Fozcast, Townsend revealed his unusual dinner habits. You can watch the footage below.

He said: “Every night for dinner I eat chicken feet. Steamed chicken feet.

“I swear to you. Because the collagen in the chicken feet, there's the cartilage.”

Townsend continued: “There's basically so much goodness that now they put it into pills and put it into shots.

“The daily pills you take at training is mainly from chicken feet and random stuff like that.”

When asked where he buys his chicken feet from, Townsend replied: “Online. Yeah, I order it in like massive batches. It comes frozen, I whack a load in the freezer.

“You can boil them. I steam them, I put them in a steam oven, 20 minutes and it's lovely.

“Honestly, it's like chicken wing, but a chicken foot. You obviously don't eat the bone but you have to eat as much as the cartilage and as close to the bone as possible.”

Speaking about his transfer to Luton, Townsend said: “I’ve got three months to get myself in the best condition possible and 12 more games to prove I deserve to be here.”

Luton are currently 18th in the Premier League but have produced decent performances in recent matches against Liverpool and Manchester United.

Their only victory of the season came at Goodison Park when they beat Everton 2-1 back in September. Luton's first match after the latest international break will be a meeting with Palace at Kenilworth Road.
