A Premier League match is at risk of being postponed this weekend due to severe flooding.

Heavy rain has fallen across the UK as Storm Babet made its way across the country, and it has had a significant impact on one Premier League ground.

As a result, the contest may need to be rescheduled, with further flooding and heavy rain expected over the weekend.

The match in question is Nottingham's Forest's clash against Luton at the City Ground on Saturday.

Significant rain has fallen this week in Nottingham, leading to flooding in the streets which has forced several roads in the area to close.

According to The Athletic, the home side are 'placed on red alert', but 'hopeful' that the game can still go ahead.

Indeed, Forest may have a better chance than most after they re-laid the pitch at the City Ground this summer and improved their drainage system.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the North West is also expected to be hit by the weather, with a further four games at risk of being postponed.

They are Liverpool vs Everton, Manchester City vs Brighton, Newcastle vs Crystal Palace and Sheffield United vs Manchester United.
