Newcastle fans slam 'disgusting' Yoane Wissa behaviour after latest drastic action

Newcastle target Yoane Wissa's behaviour has mirrored the antics of their striker Alexander Isak.

Newcastle supporters have called out target Yoane Wissa for "disgusting" behaviour as he continues to try and force a move away from Brentford.

The Magpies have identified the Congo international as a priority signing to strengthen their attack after a flurry of rejections and the striker wants out at Brentford, who have sold Bryan Mbuemo and Christian Norgaard as well as losing manager Thomas Frank to Spurs.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Wissa was told a year ago that he could leave for a fee of £26 million but Brentford are now demanding at least £60 million for a player who scored 19 goals last season.

Like Newcastle's Alexander Isak, who desperately wants to join Liverpool and has been absent from training and matchday squads, Wissa missed Brentford's opening weekend defeat to Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Unhappy with his situation, he has now unfollowed his employers on Instagram and changed his profile picture to black - in addition to removing all mentions of Brentford.

But given Newcastle are in the same boat with Isak, many of the supporters have slammed Wissa's antics and do not want him in their ranks.

One on X commented: "Disgusting behaviour... the player power these days is out of this world."

A second said: "Wissa and Isak both deserve to suffer. I don't care if Wissa wants to join us. Whilst he's at Brentford they should punish him left right centre."

A third added: "Newcastle fans have been consistent that it's wrong. Liverpool fans pick and choose. Couldn't care if it was an U21 signing. If you're under contract and being paid handsomely then you don't have a leg to stand on."

Another user stated: "Yeah no, we're good. Wissa can stay there."

A final person opined: "Absolutely awful behaviour. I don't want him at NUFC."

Brentford boss comments on Wissa latest

Brentford have brought in a new attacker in Dango Ouattara, a club-record £42.5 million capture from Bournemouth, but view him as an Mbuemo replacement rather than Wissa.

Speaking after their 3-1 loss to Forest, new boss Keith Andrews admitted he was in the dark about the latest developments involving Wissa.

"It’s a day-by-day one in terms of Wiss," he said, as per The Independent.

"As far as I know nothing else has happened today, definitely didn’t yesterday, so as it was really.

“I have no idea what the situation will be, I have been up here since yesterday so we will deal with that during the week."
