Newcastle United appear to have already decided about sacking Eddie Howe as the club suffered another damaging Premier League defeat.
In what was the only Premier League fixture played on Boxing Day this year, Newcastle United travelled to Old Trafford to face Manchester United in an 8pm kick off.
With Newcastle United currently in dreadful form in the Premier League, the pressure was on manager Howe to pick up a crucial three points in the game.
However, a spectacular goal from unlikely hero Patrick Dorgu denied Newcastle any points, despite the visitors having several big chances throughout the match.

And it appears that Newcastle may have already decided on Howe's future as manager of the club ahead of the clash at Old Trafford.

Newcastle United's last win in the Premier League came on December 6 as they beat promoted side Burnley at St James' Park.
The loss at Old Trafford means it will soon be over a month since the Magpies last picked up even one point away from home.
Despite this, a report from Team Talk following the recent loss to historic rivals Sunderland in the Tyne-Wear derby claimed that Howe will not be leaving Newcastle United anytime soon, regardless of results.
“Eddie is the best man for the job, that is the view of everyone at the club. Things are tough at the moment, but the club are focused on getting through it together,” the source revealed.
Although Newcastle United have since drawn with Chelsea at St James' Park and lost away to Manchester United, it is unlikely that the Newcastle board's opinion will have changed drastically enough to see Howe lose his job imminently.

It is reported that the difficult summer that Howe had to deal with, particularly with the Alexander Isak saga, and the fact that new signings Malick Thiaw and Nick Woltemade have impressed so far has not gone unnoticed.
Despite the fact that Newcastle are not expected to do much business when the transfer window opens in just a few days time, the club remains confident that things will turn around heading into 2026.
