Fans are slamming one Ukraine star for his performance against Slovakia.

Having fallen to a dismal 3-0 opening game defeat to Romania, Ukraine were in great need of claiming points against Slovakia.

Serhiy Rebrov's men bounced back from a 1-0 deficit to finish the game as 2-1 winners and go level with Romania and Slovakia on 3 points in Group E.

Despite the result, however, fans on X, formally Twitter, were deeply critical of Ukraine's talisman Mykhailo Mudryk's performance.

While the Chelsea star provided a good outlet for his team, particularly in the second half, and also hit the post from a tight angle, one person said: "I don't think it's talked about enough that Chelsea spent about £90m - ninety million pounds - on Mudryk, and he's absolutely s***e."

In response to one moment, another wrote: "That is a spectacularly bad off ball run than that by Mudryk, utterly destroyed the space to receive the pass."

A third said: "Mudryk needs to leave my club."

However, others were more positive about his performance, with one person stressing: "Only one shot off target and haters started talking, they won’t talk of some good things Mudryk is doing on the pitch."

In the same vein, another said: "This narrative-based form of analysis on X is exhausting.

"He’s far from refined but, nonetheless, Mudryk has been arguably the best performer for Ukraine today.

"Lack of off-ball awareness and poor decision making are a problem, but he’s been great at getting the team forward."
