INEOS negotiating fees for Man City and Liverpool starlets as new Man United strategy emerges

INEOS appear to have changed up Manchester United's transfer strategy as they're reportedly targeting two impressive future stars.

There is now fewer than four weeks until the 2026/27 Premier League season kicks off with the opening fixture between reigning champions Arsenal and newly-promoted Coventry City at the Emirates.

With the season rapidly approaching and the summer's World Cup now over, excitement about the ongoing transfer window is ramping up.

So far this summer most Premier League clubs have stayed relatively quiet in the market, with Elliot Anderson's £116million transfer to Manchester City and Morgan Rogers' move to Chelsea for £117m just 19 days later both breaking the record for a British player.

Manchester United have made three signings so far this summer, securing former Leeds goalkeeper Karl Darlow on a free transfer before completing moves for Aston Villa star Youri Tielemans and Chelsea's Andrey Santos for a combined £85m.

The Red Devils have since been linked with several other big name players, including Manu Kone, Carlos Baleba and Alex Scott.

But a new report appears to suggest that United owners INEOS are instead currently focusing on young talents for the youth academy, with The Sun reporting that they are closing in on a deal for Liverpool wonderkid Isaac Konde.

The 16-year-old is a highly-regarded winger who regularly plays for Liverpool's under-18 side and predominantly operates on the left but can also play on the opposite side and up front if needed.

And that's not all as Manchester City youth midfielders David Eze and Karim Cassim are also reportedly set to join United this summer, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe making it clear that he wants to unearth hidden gems and develop them into world-class talents, either to keep or sell for huge profits.

Eze, 16, has been a target for United throughout the summer, after it became clear he wanted to leave City and following comparisons to former United star Paul Pogba.

Meanwhile Cassim, 16, is seen as versatile midfielder who is capable of providing back up in the No.6, No.8 or No.10 roles.

Deals for all three young stars are reportedly in the final stages, with INEOS currently in negotiations over development compensation fees to be paid to both City and Liverpool.

Once done, it's believed that they will all initially link up with the Under-18s squad.

Manchester United make enquiry for Aurelien Tchouameni

Although it's clear that United are looking to invest in their youth development, that doesn't mean that their business for the first team is done this summer.

Following the collapse of a deal for Atalanta's Ederson, it's clear that United need to sign another star midfielder this summer, and it appears that Real Madrid's Tchouameni could be an option.

United have been linked with the Frenchmen throughout the summer, but with reports claiming that the 26-year-old had agreed a contract extension with Madrid, the links started to die down.

However, with a formal announcement confirming the extension yet to come, The Sun has now reported that Real Madrid could be open to selling the midfield star as a deal for Manchester City's Rodri to go to the Bernabeu potentially on the cards.

The report claims that, should a move for Rodri become possible, Real Madrid would be willing to sell Tchouameni to Manchester United in order to fund the move.
