Speaking after the game, Amorim walked out of his press conference as he strongly indicated that he feels he should be given more power by claiming he wanted to be the club's manager rather than the head coach.
Before his dismissal, he also hinted at when he could leave Old Trafford, name-dropping Antonio Conte, Thomas Tuchel and Jose Mourinho in the process.
"I came here to be the manager of Manchester United, not to be the head coach," the 40-year-old exclaimed.
"I know my name is not [Antonio] Conte, [Thomas] Tuchel, or [Jose] Mourinho but I'm the manager of Manchester United."

Amorim added: "It's going to be like this for 18 months or until the board decide to change. I'm not going to quit.
"I'll do my job until another guy is coming here to replace me."

Hours after his rant, a report from talkSPORT claimed Amorim's future was in the 'balance', which proved to be the case as he was sacked on Monday, with a clear favourite emerging to replace the 40-year-old at Old Trafford.
A breakdown in relationship with director of football Jason Wilcox was the final straw, per the report.

The report states Amorim's frustrations boiled over after Man United's hierarchy, including Wilcox, urged him to be more tactically flexible.
Omar Berrada has clearly backed Wilcox by letting go of the Portuguese, who was contracted until 2027.
Amorim felt promises to add to the squad were broken, with Man United now planning for a quiet window, having been linked with the likes of Antoine Semenyo, who seems set to join Manchester City this month.
The Kobbie Mainoo situation also raised concerns within the Man United board as Amorim has frozen out the star midfielder this season,.
