Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim was asked if there were any positives from their humiliating post-season defeat to the ASEAN All-Stars on Wednesday – and his response speaks volumes.
The Reds kick-started their post-season tour of Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong with a game against the ASEAN All-Stars, although their lacklustre performance left much to be desired on a humid evening in Malaysia.
Just hours after Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt, Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven took part in a viral open-top bus parade, Maung Maung Lwin scored the only goal of the game as United suffered another damaging defeat.

It was a result that summed up their dismal campaign across all competitions, and in his post-match interview with MUTV, a far-from-impressed Ruben Amorim made his feelings clear at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium.
When asked if there were any positives from the game, he said: "I like the young kids. They try. That’s enough for me at the moment.”
After sections of supporters could be heard jeering their performance at the full-time whistle, Amorim suggested that his team should be booed more often.

"I always feel guilty of the performance of the team since I am here in the first game," Amorim said, as per The Manchester Evening News.
"I feel guilty, then the boos from the fans, maybe it is something we need because every game that we lost in the Premier League, they were always there. I felt when we finished every time the supporters were with us. Let's see for next season.
"We should perform better. We were slow, we don’t have in us to win every exercise in training, and every game the important thing is we had no injuries."
Amorim added: "With some players it was a risk but we wanted to show respect to the fans. We should win these kind of games."

Never one to shy away from speaking his mind, the Portuguese coach would open up on his biggest concern, citing their 2-0 victory over Aston Villa on the final day of the season in his brutally honest assessment.
"We played quite well in the last game of the Premier League against a team trying to get into the Champions League. Today was completely different. My biggest concern is every game, every small-sided game on the street, we need to have that feeling."
"We need to win every game," he said. "It's something we need to push for the players. But the way I play is the same as other coaches. You have an idea and stick with your ideas. You can change something but I'm just one more coach who reached this level by believing in certain things."

In total, United will travel nearly 7,000 miles to take part in the two-game tour – a decision that will see them earn a reported £8 million amid their fight to avoid Premier League Profit and Sustainability rule breaches.
