Manchester United legend Roy Keane has lashed out at club captain Bruno Fernandes amid their ongoing public feud.
On the final day of the 2025/26 Premier League season, Manchester United captain Fernandes made history as a controversial goal led to him breaking the official record for assists in a season.
Fernandes surpassed both Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne as he picked up his 21st assist of the season against Brighton, teeing up Patrick Dorgu's opening goal.
The record-breaking assist came after former United captain Keane admitted he was "raging" and left "cringing" at how United's players celebrated Fernandes tying the record in the previous match against Nottingham Forest.

Speaking on The Overlap, Keane said: "After the game, he got interviewed, and the captain of Manchester United said, 'Yeah, a few times I probably should have shot, but I made them passes.'
"Wow. How can a footballer's mindset be going out to a match and be talking about some individual record?"

Fernandes later hit back at Keane, accusing him of lying in a sit-down interview with Steven Bartlett on the Diary of a CEO podcast.
"I've always said I don't mind criticism. I always take criticism from everyone and I never reply to anything. People have an opinion, they think it's good, bad or whatever," Fernandes said.
"What I don't like is when people lie about things. This case that you said about Roy Keane, basically what he said is a lie because either he saw some other interview or he can't say that I said one thing that I've just not said.
"I accept his criticism, whether he likes me as a player or not, likes me as a person or not. But what I don't like, is that he puts words in my mouth that has not been said."

But it appears that Keane isn't willing to let the issue lie as just hours after Fernandes' response was posted online, Keane took his Instagram story to share a photo that appears to be a reaction to the comments.
"Too much attention makes a donkey think he's a lion," the image read.

During the podcast appearance, Fernandes also stated that he had got in touch with his former manager Solskjaer, an ex colleague of Keane's, to ask for Keane's details to speak directly to the Sky Sports pundit about what had been said.
It's unclear if the pair have been able to have this private chat, but it's safe to say that their feud has not yet been settled.
