Mike Tyson endeared himself to Manchester United fans after inadvertently mocking Manchester City in front of Ricky Hatton.

Tyson joined die-hard Blues fan Hatton on The Clare Balding Show back in 2013 - a year after Man City won their first Premier League title.

The boxing icon, who remains the youngest world heavyweight champion in history, was asked for his thoughts on Man City's triumph.

But he was hilariously oblivious to Man City, only knowing Manchester United in the city.

Tyson claimed: "I’ve been in Manchester for a long period of time, and I’ve never heard of Manchester City.

"The first time I heard about Manchester City was because of Manchester United."

Balding gasped in shock while 'The Hitman' laughed off Tyson's savagery.

Since the joint-interview, Man City have won an impressive six Premier League titles, with current boss Pep Guardiola delivering five of them.

Man United, on the other hand, won the league title in the 2012/13 season under Sir Alex Ferguson, but have failed to win the league since his departure.

'Iron' Mike is familiar with Manchester, having fought at the iconic MEN Arena, now the AO Arena, back in January 2000.

He needed just four minutes and three seconds to record victory as he destroyed Julius Francis.

It was his first fight on UK soil as he went onto face Lou Savarese in Glasgow, Scotland.

But his Manchester bout was the only fight he had in England during his legendary career.

After his UK tour, Tyson had six more fights before walking away from the sport.

He notably fought Lennox Lewis in a massive showdown for the WBC, IBF, IBO, and The Ring heavyweight titles.

He took on another Brit in the penultimate fight of his career, taking on Danny Williams before meeting Irishman Kevin McBride in his final fight.
