Man Utd are 'prepared to sell' Rasmus Hojlund after his Fulham disasterclass and two frontrunners have emerged to sign him

The Denmark international could not make a positive impact during Manchester United's 1-0 win against Fulham on Sunday evening.

Manchester United are reportedly keen to “offload” Rasmus Hojlund as two huge European sides are showing “interest” in the forward.

Hojlund, 21, joined United from Atalanta in August 2023 but a poor return of just 23 goals in 71 games has failed to justify his reported £64m transfer fee.

And despite struggling for form with just two strikes in 18 games in the Premier League this term, Ruben Amorim has persisted with the Dane.

On Sunday, Amorim, 39, named Hojlund in his starting XI for the 1-0 Premier League win against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

However, after a lacklustre showing, the 21-year-old was replaced by Joshua Zirkzee on 58 minutes.

Amorim admitted that there is a “disconnect” between the Danish striker and his United teammates.

"He works really hard and you can see sometimes without training there is a disconnection," Amorim said. "We can explain but without training sometimes it goes away when it should be near. Sometimes he goes near when he should make a run.

"We don’t have time to create that connection, we don't train these kind of things, we just talk about these things and he has a lot to improve like the teammates. Sometimes you have a good game, and another day you cannot have a good performance.

"The important thing is I see every day he wants (it) really badly, he wants to train a little bit more at the end of training and that is the best thing to improve.

"But as a footballer - and he is a young guy - sometimes you have to understand that you have a bad game but you have to continue to go to the next."

And despite Amorim’s fairly balanced assessment of Hojlund’s performance, reports suggest his time at United could be up.

Who could sign Rasmus Hojlund?

According to ESPN, the Red Devils are “prepared to offload” the player if they were to “receive a suitable offer” in either the January or summer transfer window.

The report goes on to claim that AC Milan and Juventus are showing “limited” interest while there is also “interest” from the German Bundesliga heading into the final week of the window.

Hojlund is contracted to United until June 2028 and is valued at £50.4m by Transfermarkt.
