Manchester United could trigger three other players’ release clauses, having already been linked with moves for Matheus Cunha and Liam Delap.

Man United have had a torrid 2024/25 Premier League campaign and currently sit 14th in the top flight and can only qualify for next season’s Champions League if they win the Europa League.

Come this summer, they will likely look to add to their squad with The Athletic reporting that Wolves’ Cunha, 25, has been the subject of “positive contract talks” with the Midlands side wanting his £62.5m release clause paid in full.

The deal could be sanctioned by the sale of out-of-favour stars such as Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia.

United are also interested in Ipswich Town forward Delap, 22, who has registered 12 goals and two assists in the Premier League this season, but they could face competition from Chelsea - with The Athletic claiming a fee of £30 million would likely be Ipswich’s asking price.

But who are the other options available this summer?

Goalkeeper Andre Onana has come under fire for several high-profile mistakes of late, and the Cameroonian could be replaced by Porto’s goalkeeper Diogo Costa, who has a £64m release clause in his current contract as reported by Manchester World – although it is unclear if United would be willing to spend such a fee given their current financial predicament.

Bournemouth centre-back Dean Huijsen, who is also on Real Madrid’s radar, could also be an option to shore up Amorim’s defence, as per Football365.

The 20-year-old has a £50m release clause in his contract, according to The Athletic, and boasts top-flight experience having featured 27 times for the Cherries this term.

Napoli forward - currently on loan at Galatasaray - Victor Osimhen could be an option in forward positions.

In early April, David Ornstein suggested that the "consensus" among Premier League clubs is that the Nigerian's most likely destination is Saudi Arabia.

"Part of that will be down to the affordability of his wages," Ornstein explained. "But let's see."

However, this didn't stop former United centre-back Rio Ferdinand from urging the club to sign him when speaking on 'Rio Ferdinand Presents', two weeks ago.

"Big point is that we need Osimhen, we need him," said Ferdinand.

"We need experience, we need someone who knows how to score, we need someone who can show these young strikers at Man United how to do it and what is on the line when you need to deliver. I want someone who knows their way around a football pitch at the elite level and knows how to score at the elite level consistently.

"Osimhen has done that. I want here and now. Yes, Osimhen has not played in the Premier League but I don’t care. I think he scores wherever he goes."

A supposed release clause in Osimhen's contract is thought to be worth between £65-70m.
