Alejandro Garnacho has issued a two-word message to Cristiano Ronaldo on Instagram – and it’s left fans baffled.

Garnacho, 20, briefly played alongside Ronaldo, 39, during the Portuguese's second spell at United between 2021 and 2022.

The Argentina international has been fairly open about his admiration for Ronaldo.

But his most recent Instagram story feels ominous.

On Tuesday afternoon, the winger posted a photograph of Ronaldo to his social media which was captioned: "What's coming?"

It is still unclear the reason for post but it has already got fans talking on social media.

Former United 'keeper David de Gea posted the same thing to his Instagram story.

One said: "Garnacho to Al Nassr."

Another added: "Something big is coming."

A third commented: "He's going to Saudi to play with his hero."

A fourth exclaimed: "Garnacho always keeps us guessing."

Garnacho's love for Ronaldo is no secret.

He has previously employed Ronaldo's 'Sui' celebration and even worn 'CR7' branded underwear while playing for United.

United captain Bruno Fernandes even joked that Garnacho had been watching "too many Cristiano [Ronaldo] clips" after the Argentine scored a stunning Ronaldo-esque overhead kick against Everton at Goodison Park in November 2023.

"We all know that he [Alejandro Garancho]'s a big fan [of Cristiano Ronaldo]," Fernandes said in November 2023.

"There is still a long way for him to be like Cristiano but he's getting his steps," he added.

"He wants to be something special in the world of football and I think he has the capability to do that, but he has to do more than that goal!"

Of course, Garnacho has a long way to go and a lot to achieve before he is even considered to be anywhere near the level of the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.

This season, the United youngster has failed to perform well on a consistent basis having scored just three times in 15 Premier League appearances.

Since new United coach Ruben Amorim took charge of the side in November, the 20-year-old has had to settle for several appearances off the bench as Amorim has opted for Amad and Diogo Dalot on the flanks of his 3-4-3 formation.

The wing backs have an equal attacking and defensive responsibility in his team, which may be part of the reason Garnacho has been used sporadically.
