Manchester United have told four players they can leave the club this summer as Michael Carrick looks to put his stamp on the side.

United have brought in a total of five new players so far this summer, the most notable being the midfield acquisitions of Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos.

The Red Devils have also signed goalkeeper Karl Darlow on a free, as well as 20-year-old shotstopper Kit Margetson after he left Swansea.

18-year-old winger Tynan Thompson has also joined from Spurs for around Β£4 million.

Outgoings are likely at Old Trafford and a new report from the Daily Mail has shed light on who looks set to move on.

According to Chris Wheeler, United are happy to allow Radek Vitek, Harry Amass, Dan Gore and Toby Collyer to leave despite them featuring in the 5-0 friendly win over Rosenborg.

All four have been told they are unlikely to feature in the first-team this season and are available for permanent transfers.

Goalkeeper Vitek spent last season on loan at Bristol City in the Championship and has admirers in the second tier, with Middlesbrough said to be keen.

The 22-year-old is yet to make a first-team appearance for United and openly admitted he is ready to leave to become a first-choice goalkeeper elsewhere this summer.

Left-back Amass was on target in the Rosenborg victory but Championship clubs are interested in recruiting him.

The 19-year-old, who has played seven times for United, impressed on loan at Sheffield Wednesday last season before a second loan spell with Norwich ended prematurely due to an injury in training.

The Athletic say that United value him at Β£6 million and would prefer a permanent transfer.

Man United pair set to move on with first-team chances limited

As per the Daily Mail report, United are willing to sell both Vitek and Amass or loan them out in an arrangement which includes an option to buy.

Meanwhile, Gore and Collyer's first-team opportunities look bleak following the double deal for Tielemans and Santos.

It's claimed they have been told their best chance of regular football would be with the Under 21's - which would be a major step backwards for both players after racking up minutes in the Football League.

Collyer, who had a run of games under Ruben Amorim, spent last season in the Championship with loans at West Brom and Hull City - earning promotion to the Premier League with the latter.

The Tigers are believed to be interested in bringing him back for a season in the top flight, while former Burnley midfield Gore is also available for transfer.

In terms of the players set to be in and around the first-team set-up, promising talents Shea Lacey, Jack and Tyler Fletcher and JJ Gabriel are the leading candidates.

Jaydan Kamason, Jim Thwaites and Jacob Devaney are the other prospects knocking on the door and waiting for their opportunity to come.

United's pre-season preparations ramp up with upcoming games against Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Leeds and AC Milan before the open the new Premier League campaign with a clash against Hull.
