Man Utd fans in disbelief as respected journalist confirms Ruben Amorim's summer transfer budget

Manchester United fans have been left in disbelief after a new report revealed the club's summer transfer budget.

Since taking over as manager in November, Ruben Amorim has only been able to make two permanent signings - Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven - because of Financial Fair Play (FFP) restrictions.

The sums of money shelled out to pay off both Dan Ashworth and Erik ten Hag, and the compensation fee to appoint Amorim from Sporting, as well as previous transfer debts, have all contributed to United's situation.

But with the club's position set to be steadier this summer, it has been expected that Amorim would have money to spend in his first summer window as manager.

A new report has now revealed what the club's expected budget is - and the number has stunned fans.

According to the Daily Mirror's Simon Mullock, United are hoping to be able to give Amorim a staggering £200 million to spend in the transfer market this summer.

That is expected to be partially raised by the sales of Casemiro and Andre Onana, with the club said to believe that they can get £20 million apiece for the two players.

They are also planning to sell Marcus Rashford and Antony for £30 million after their successful loan spells at Aston Villa and Real Betis.

Chelsea have an obligation to buy outcast Jadon Sancho for £20 million, while on-loan PSV defender Tyrell Malacia could also be sold.

The report also claims that United are considering whether to sell Alejandro Garnacho after a disappointing season.

The Argentinian has scored just one Premier League goal, with his end product and decision-making in the final third both criticised.

In terms of incomings, United have been linked with a move for former Manchester City forward Liam Delap.

The 22-year-old Ipswich striker has a release clause of £30 million should the Tractor Boys be relegated from the Premier League.

Kieran McKenna's side are 12 points behind Wolves with seven matches to play and could all but know their fate by the end of next weekend.

The Athletic report that United are also one of several clubs to be eyeing a move for Wolves star Matheus Cunha, who has scored 13 Premier League goals - one more than Delap - this season.

It is claimed that the Brazilian would be signed to play in attacking midfield behind the two strikers, with Amorim set to stick with his current five-defender tactical setup into a second season at Old Trafford.
