Man Utd fans brand Ruben Amorim 'insane' after spotting tactical change against Crystal Palace as verdict delivered

Manchester United fans have made their feelings clear on Ruben Amorim's tactical change.

Manchester United fans have reacted to Ruben Amorim's tactical change against Crystal Palace and they have delivered their verdict.

Man United resumed their Premier League campaign against Palace on Sunday following their 2-0 Europa League victory over Steaua Bucharest in midweek.

And fans noticed a major tactical change just minutes into the Old Trafford fixture.

Amorim deployed Kobbie Mainoo as a false No.9 after playing him in a No.10 position in Romania.

What's more, Mainoo made an instant impression up front as he impressed Man United fans online.

They claim the 19-year-old has already done more than Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, who were both resigned to a spot on the bench against Palace.

One X user wrote: "Mainoo’s being playing striker for all of 5 minutes and he’s already showed more box intelligence and movement than Hojlund and Zirkzee have showed in months."

A second said: "Mainoo has done more in 5 minutes as a 9 than we got out of Hojlund and Zirkzee..."

A third added: "Kobbie Mainoo as a roaming, free #9. Let's cook something up."

A fourth commented: "Mainoo has done more than Hojlund & Zirkzee in 5 minutes."

A fifth joked: "Mainoo as false 9?? Nah, Amorim is INSANE!!"

Another wrote: "Striker Mainoo, I wasn't familiar with your game."

Mainoo, who had plenty of the ball in the final third against Steaua, got on the score-sheet in Man United's 2-0 victory.

And he came close to scoring against Palace, hitting the post.

Hojlund and ZIrkzee, meanwhile, have struggled for form this season, with the Dane scoring just two league goals while the Dutchman has only three league goals to this name.
