Rasmus Hojlund recorded one of the top five speeds in the Premier League this season in just 23 minutes

Rasmus Hojlund recorded one of the top five speeds in the Premier League this season in just 23 minutes

Rasmus Hojlund has already broken into an elite list.

Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund is already in the top five players for one key statistic - despite playing just 23 minutes of football for his new club.

The Dane came off the bench during United's 3-1 defeat to Arsenal prior to the international break, showing some impressive touches and movements in his brief cameo.

Hojlund played a key role in the build-up to what United thought was the winning goal scored by Alejandro Garnacho with a flicked pass, but the goal was ruled out by VAR.

The 20-year-old, who signed for the club in August, is now on international duty with Denmark as he works his way back up to full fitness.

Hojlund is renowned for his strength and aerial ability, given his height, but his movement is also one of his key strengths.

And he has already entered a Premier League top five in one statistic.

The Premier League website lists the players who have recorded the fastest top speeds so far this season, and Hojlund is in fifth place.

He recorded a top speed of 35.45km/h in the Arsenal clash, with the Dane behind three other players in the rankings.

Fulham's Adama Traore is in fourth place, having recorded a speed of 35.55km/h, with Newcastle's Anthony Gordon occupying third and second positions with speeds of 35.63km/h, recorded against Aston Villa, and 35.67km/h, recorded against Manchester City.

In top spot, meanwhile, is Bournemouth forward Dominic Solanke, who sprinted at 36.10km/h against Tottenham last month.

Speaking after his debut against Arsenal, Hojlund spoke positively to Danish outlet Bold about his time at Old Trafford so far: "It has been positive. I myself think that I made a good jump-in, and I hope that there are more minutes after the national team break.

"We have some exciting matches ahead. We have to face Brighton this weekend and Bayern Munich in the next midweek, so I'm really looking forward to that."
