Footage of Ralf Rangnick's only Man Utd signing in action has emerged

Rangnick was only allowed to bring in one player during his time at Old Trafford.

Ralf Rangnick's only Manchester United signing played for the club's U21s side and footage has gone viral.

The German had one transfer window in interim charge of United between 2021 and 2022.

Despite presenting the club several high-profile transfer targets during his time in the Premier League, they never followed up on any of them.

Among the names on Rangnick's shortlist were Christopher Nkunku, Luis Diaz and Erling Haaland. All three players have since moved to England with Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City.

Only one player put pen to paper and walked through the doors at Carrington.

Young defensive midfielder Toby Collyer joined from Brighton & Hove Albion in March 2022, two months after the transfer window slammed shut.

He's yet to make a first-team appearance for the club but has been on the bench for their last three Premier League games.

Erik ten Hag sees something in the youngster, who can operate at centre-back.

Collyer started for United's U21s and captained the side against West Bromwich Albion in Monday's Premier League 2 game.

The Red Devils ran out 3-0 winners and Collyer looked composed, popping up all over the pitch.

He had an opportunity to score in the second half but saw his shot saved by the West Brom goalkeeper.

Now 20, it's now or never for Collyer to make a first-team breakthrough.

When asked about Collyer before United's 2-1 defeat to Fulham last month, Ten Hag said: "He showed some good stuff and he showed some potential.

"And so we have some problems. But yeah, it's, for him, an opportunity to be involved.

"He has to be ready to come on because you are on the bench to come on."

United have been ravaged by injury this season, especially in defence.

Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw have been long-term absanteess, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire returned in Sunday's 4-3 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup.

They're currently sixth in the Premier League and return to action against Brentford on March 30.
