Man Utd fans say it's 'time to liquidate' after spotting what happened during half-time of Ipswich game

There were a number of big talking points from an eventful Wednesday night at Old Trafford as 10-man Manchester United recorded a much-needed win over Ipswich Town.

Ruben Amorim's side secured all three points against their relegation-threatened opponents as goals from Sam Morsy [OG], Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire sealed a hard-fought 3-2 win.

It was an action-packed game, to say the least.

After new signing Patrick Dorgu was sent off following a studs-up challenge on Omari Hutchinson, Alejandro Garnacho walked straight down the tunnel having been replaced by Noussair Mazraoui.

Moments later, referee Darren England blew his whistle for half-time as fans inside Old Trafford reflected on an opening 45 minutes that featured four goals, a sending off and a rodent walking across the pitch.

That's right. Getty photographer James Gill captured a rat walking across the Old Trafford touchline before United conceded early on through Jaden Philogene, who pounced on a miscommunication between Patrick Dorgu and Andre Onana.

As the picture began to circulate on social media, footage from the stands soon emerged on social media, with a number of supporters being captured listening to Mark Goldbridge's live watchalong stream on YouTube.

Goldbridge, real name Brent Di Cesare, has built a huge following on a range of social media channels, including YouTube and X, formerly Twitter.

And a number of videos emerged of fans tuning in to hear his thoughts on Wednesday's first-half action, with one clip picking up more than one million views and a huge amount of engagement.

Here's how fans on social media reacted to the scenes.

One said: "1878 - 2025. We had a good run. It’s time to liquidate," and a second commented: "Im telling you, relegation is needed as an establishment."

A third wrote: "What’s the issue? He’s listening to a United fans opinion on the game so far at half time?"

A fourth said: "YouTube fan channels>>>TV and radio commentary," and a fifth added: "Imagine paying for a ticket to watch your team live just to pull up a Mark Goldbridge video at halftime."

Another big talking point from the game happened just before half-time, when Garnacho walked straight down the Old Trafford tunnel after being replaced.

In fact, after the full-time whistle, the Argentine took to social media to seemingly express his disappointment at being replaced, posting an image of himself looking disconsolate on his Instagram story.
