Manchester United players are reported to have mocked Erik ten Hag behind his back according to a dressing room 'leak'.

Following a thorough end of the season review, United's new owners INEOS have elected to stick with the Dutchman.

That is despite United apparently holding discussions with the likes of Thomas Tuchel, Roberto De Zerbi and Marco Silva as they looked for a suitable candidate to replace Ten Hag.

However, the club ultimately decided to keep Ten Hag and there is even talk they could look to extend his stay at the club.

According to the Daily Mail, a four-hour meeting was held between United chiefs and Ten Hag in Ibiza where he was told his job was safe.

The detailed report carries plenty of information as to how United came to the decision.

But it also includes a mention of how the players responded to Ten Hag. In a bid to get his side working hard off the ball and pressing hard early on, the 54-year-old is said to have encouraged them to buzz around like bees.

To further get his point across, it's claimed Ten Hag made a buzzing sound.

Last season however, some players are believed to have made those same very noises when his back was turned.

Despite this, a good chunk of United's players back Ten Hag. Many were convinced that Ten Hag would be given the boot last week and there was surprise when news broke that he was staying put.

But the majority are pleased to have it confirmed that Ten Hag is continuing after the endless speculation.

Discussions over a new deal will now step and Ten Hag is reported to have three major demands before he signs on the dotted line.

He refuses to have Jadon Sancho back in the mix unless he apologises, while he will also push back on technical director Jason Wilcox dictating the style of play.

Finally, Ten Hag wants Benni McCarthy to be handed a new deal as he sees him as a key member of his staff.
