Mark Goldbridge's controversial Erik ten Hag comments will anger Arsenal fans

Gunners fans may not agree.

Mark Goldbridge's controversial comments about Manchester United's injury woes could anger Arsenal fans.

The Red Devils have endured a dismal start to the season, having suffered back-to-back defeats against local rivals Manchester City and Newcastle in the last week.

However, United's struggles haven't been helped by injuries, with the likes of Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.

Casemiro is the latest name to be added to that list following reports that he will miss several weeks on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury.

However, YouTuber and United super-fan Goldbridge has since defended the club's poor form, insisting that Arsenal would struggle if they were missing some of their first team stars.

Godbridge tweeted: "Casemiro out for a couple of months....say what you want about Ten Hag but if Arteta was playing without White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko and Rice for 2 months they'd struggle as well. Straight facts."

Gunners supporters will no doubt scoff at his comments, suggesting it is Ten Hag's fault for not rotating his squad more regularly.

In Casemiro's absence, United fans have called for Kobbie Mainoo to be handed a start against Fulham on Saturday.

Speaking ahead of United's trip to Craven cottage, Ten Hag said: “They [players] are positive. They want to put this right and we know the standards here. We have to match them every day, we've had two big setbacks, but we'll fight back. The dressing room is strong, the staff are strong and this manager is strong.

“I have a good squad. I'm convinced about the players in the dressing room. We saw these players last year, they can do a lot better, but that's up to me to let them play better.”

He continued: “I have to take the responsibility to make them play better and I will put every effort in to get this done. I'm not thinking about transfer windows because I have a good squad.”
