Man United fans think Erik ten Hag decision proves he is 'waiting to be sacked'

Manchester United supporters think a decision Erik ten Hag in the 3-3 draw against Porto made proves he is "waiting to be sacked"

After the horrific 3-0 loss at home to Spurs on Sunday, United made a superb start to the game at Estadio do Dragao.

Marcus Rashford opened the scoring with a fine solo effort seven minutes in, before Rasmus Hojlund doubled the lead in the 20th minute on his first start this season.

Diogo Costa didn't cover himself in glory with either goal but it was shaping up to be an impressive display for United.

But then it all started to go wrong again. Pepe pulled one back before Samu Omorodion levelled matters from another cross which United could not deal with.

The 20-year-old former Atletico Madrid striker then bagged his second early on in the second half to complete the turnaround and make it 3-2.

He bullied both Lisandro Martinez and Matthijs de Ligt all night and United's new look centre-back pairing were slated for their performances.

Both were subbed off in the 77th minute as Ten Hag changed his two central defenders, with Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans brought in.

One wrote: "Maguire and Evans.....still the same midfield. Yeah Erik wants the 17 million."

A second fumed: "MAGUIRE AND EVANS COMING ON WHEN WE ARE LOSING????."

A third user opined: 78 minutes gone. 3-2 down. Who do you call upon?"

Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans of course.

A fourth said: "Jonny Evans & Harry Maguire coming on when Manchester United are losing 3-2. Love it, makes complete sense. Come on lads."

Incredibly, Maguire came up with a stoppage time equaliser which may just have kept Ten Hag in a job for now.

United, who had captain Bruno Fernandes sent off for the second consecutive game, return to action with a tough trip to Aston Villa on Sunday.
