Manchester United fans have been venting their frustrations on social media after the Red Devils were beaten by Nottingham Forest.

United travelled to the City Ground on Tuesday night looking to win back-to-back Premier League matches on the back of their victory over Leicester City before the international break.

However, the visitors got off to an awful start after former player Anthony Elanga scored a brilliant individual goal to make it 1-0 inside five minutes.

The Swedish international evaded the challenge of Alejandro Garnacho before slotting the ball into the bottom corner.

In the second half, United huffed and puffed as they looked for the equaliser, but they were faced with a stubborn Forest defence.

Eventually, Nuno Espirito Santo's men held on for a vital 1-0 victory.

Reacting on social media, United fans were less than happy with the performance of Patrick Dorgu, who joined the club in January.

One fan said: "Dorgu so far for me has been massively underwhelming. Other than having a left foot, there is barely any threat going forward."

Another tweeted: "I like Dorgu but he’s been abysmal today especially passing wise."

A third fan added: "Never thought these words would be muttered by me.....but Dalot has offered more than what Dorgu has."

Someone else wrote: "No one will ever gaslight into believing me that Dorgu is good."

A fifth commented: "If Dorgu is Amorim’s signing then he’s very stupid, what did he see exactly?"

As a result of the defeat, United stay 13th in the Premier League table and will drop to 14th if Tottenham Hotspur beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, Forest has cemented their place in the top four of the Premier League and currently hold a nine-point lead over Manchester City, who are in fifth place.

United are back in Premier League action this weekend when they take on bitter rivals City at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
