Jadon Sancho has released a statement on social media following Borussia Dortmund's Champions League final defeat and has appeared to hint at a decision about his Manchester United future.

Sancho returned to Dortmund on loan during the January transfer window after he was banished from the Man United first-team by Erik ten Hag following their public dispute.

Sancho made 21 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals as he shone in the Champions League.

He enjoyed a stunning showing against Paris Saint-Germain as his side beat the French giants to book their spot in the final.

But they fell short in the final hurdle as the German outfit succumbed to Real, who ran out 2-0 winners at Wembley Stadium.

Sancho featured in the starting XI but failed to inspire them to European glory.

A few days removed from their defeat in London, England, the 24-year-old has thanked Dortmund, manager Edin Terzic as well as the club's chiefs in what appears to be a farewell message, seemingly ruling out a permanent move back to Germany.

"What a crazy 6 months," he wrote on X.

"We win together we lose together, these moments only make us stronger! I’m so grateful to be apart of such an amazing group of players!

"I want to congratulate Real Madrid on winning the Champions League. We came up short on the night, but we should be super proud of ourselves. We are a family and these moments won’t break us! Thank you to everybody who came out to support us on such a special day!

"@BVB I want to thank everyone involved at such an amazing club. I can’t thank you enough for welcoming me back the way you all have during these last 6 months.

"Thank you to Edin Terzic, Sebastian Kehl and Hans-Joachim Watzke for believing in me and bringing me back.

"Finally a special thank you to the BVB fans. Your support is amazing and I’m forever thankful for you all!"

Sancho will return to Man United ahead of the summer transfer window reopening.

He's ready to play for the Red Devils - but only if Erik ten Hag leaves.

The Dutchman's position at the club has been subject to intense scrutiny despite leading his side to FA Cup glory against Manchester City.
