Hansi Flick has made his opinions on signing Marcus Rashford clear as the Manchester United star drops the biggest hint of a move to Barcelona yet.

After just a couple of weeks since the transfer window reopened, it has already become clear that the future of United legend Rashford could be one of the biggest talking points of the summer.

The England international has long been linked with a move away from his boyhood club after seemingly falling out of favour with current United boss Ruben Amorim.

Despite spending the latter part of last season on loan with Aston Villa, who are believed to be interested in a permanent deal, Rashford's latest comments have suggested that a move to Barcelona is his dream transfer.

Should a move to the La Liga giants materialise, then current Barcelona boss Flick has already explained exactly what he thinks about Rashford and what his plans for the United man would be.

In a recent interview with Spanish YouTuber Javi Ruiz, Rashford opened up about his future and praised Barcelona star Lamine Yamal for his standout performances since he burst onto the scene last year.

“It’s difficult to put into words what [Lamine Yamal] is doing because he’s not supposed to be doing that at 16 or 17. I don’t think we’ve seen that before," Rashford claimed.

When asked if he would like to some time play with the Spanish superstar, Rashford strongly suggested that he hopes to join Barcelona soon, replying: “Yes, for sure. Everyone wants to play with the best. Hopefully … we’ll see.”

And it appears that Barcelona are open to the move, as manager Flick praised the 27-year-old when asked about a potential move for him or Liverpool's Luis Diaz during a press conference last month.

Flick said: "[They] are both fantastic players.

"I like them and we’ll see what happens [in the summer transfer window]."

Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, also revealed that club's desires to sign Rashford while speaking to Catalan radio station RAC1 in May, meaning a transfer could happen over the coming weeks.

How does Rashford fit into Barcelona's star-studded attack?

If Rashford is to join Barcelona, he could have to learn to adjust his play as a new report from Yahoo Sports has claimed that Flick could look to use him as a striker should he arrive at the Nou Camp this summer.

With Athletic Club star Nico Williams likely to join an already impressive pair of wingers in Raphinha in Yamal, Rashford would likely struggle to find a regular starting place at either side of Barcelona's attack.

Instead, Flick will reportedly consider using him as a long-term replacement for aging striker Robert Lewandowski, who will celebrate his 37th birthday in August.
